Co-Founder & CEO, Pina Earth
Building the infrastructure for trustworthy nature-based carbon credits. Leading a cross-functional team across forestry science, technology, and carbon markets. Started in 2021 with Tree.ly, working on data-driven forest climate projects.
Co-Founder & CTO, Crate.io (CrateDB)
Built a distributed SQL database from zero to millions of inserts per second. Scaled the company to 60+ employees, raised Series A+, flipped the company to US.
CTO & Managing Director, VZ Netzwerke (StudiVZ)
Led engineering and product for StudiVZ (the German Facebook). Architected and refactored platform, managed teams and scaled backend infrastructure.
Co-Founder & CEO, Lovely Systems
Consulting on distributed systems, search infrastructure, and data engineering. We were early adopters of cloud computing and pioneers building user-generated content for media companies.
Open Source Developer, Board Member
Active contributor to open-source projects including Plone, Zope, and Gentoo Linux. Served on the board of the Plone Foundation and Zope Foundation advocating for open-source software and community-driven development.
